Here’s a little insight to our Physiotherapist Liam:
Q: What made you choose Physiotherapy as a career?
A: My interest in physiotherapy stems from a long-standing fascination with the function of the human body—and its occasional dysfunctions. This, coupled with the satisfaction of developing strategies to improve or restore function following an injury, is what motivated me to pursue this career.
Q: University year qualified and work experience?
A: 2022, I have worked in the NHS since my qualification as well as here at Oxon physiotherapy. I have also spent the last 3 years working in Rugby Union with Banbury RUFC and Oxfordshire Mens County side
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: Having to uncover the reason for someone’s pain or injury and how to best approach their recovery. There is an element of a puzzle in each case.
Q: What’s your greatest achievement in your career?
A: Involvement in three consecutive County cup wins as the Physiotherapist for Oxfordshire Rugby Union Senior Mens
Q: Clinical special interests?
A: Mostly interested in lower limb injuries and post fracture management whether this is operative or non-operative in nature.
Q: What’s your favourite patient journey and why?
A: Any journey where the patient has a genuine and heartfelt joy at the progress they have made. When a person returns from pain and limitation to simply walking without concern or even back onto the sporting field it is a great thing to be a part of.
Q: Top Pastimes?
A: Rugby (not so much anymore), hiking, shooting and golf but very badly!
Q: Scariest thing you’ve done?
A: Go back to university to study physiotherapy, I’m not an academic so the idea of willingly returning to writing essays was terrifying
Q: Favourite Film?
A: Big fan of the Lord of the Rings films and I’m not choosing between them.
Q: One item to take to a desert island?
A: Anything that would keep me cool, I don’t do well in the heat at all!
Q: Favourite food?
A: Got to be broad here, I really love Italian food but I couldn’t pick one thing.
Q: What do you do at the weekends?
A: Keep myself busy with rugby and more and more tend to be looking for new hobbies and activities to try.
Q: What to expect from me?
A: Honesty, care and an attempt at cracking a joke..
